Below we have listed a few pre-packaged web designs to give our customers an idea of what we offer and at what prices. The web design Packages listed below are simply a starting point and in no way reflects the limit of either our ability or the type of work we perform. If you fill in one of our Inquiry Forms, we will be better able to assist you with your actual specifications. The web development packages below do not mention such things as web forms, guest books, image galleries etc. because these special types are harder to price on a standard basis. They usually require both JavaScript and CGI (Common Gateway Interface) scripting and some Web Hosts do not allow server side scripts such as CGI. Please ensure that your Web Host provider allows for CGI before ordering these special types. Our web design group is located in Winlaw, British Columbia Canada.

Our Responsibilities in Webpage Design

West Kootenay Web Design will give you an accurate price estimate prior to starting web design work. We will commit to this price even if it costs us more time than expected. We only charge for our design time and not for any content provided. Please understand that you do not have permission to sell or redistribute any content that we might provide. It is also understood that we cannot provide any content for client image galleries. West Kootenay Web Design will also provide you with a time estimate which will usually be between 10 and 15 business days. We are responsible for designing the web pages to your satisfaction and will make some content available to you.

Client Responsibility in Webpage Design

The client is responsible for the majority of the text content in any web design - only the client can determine what the textual content will be. However, there is generally not much text to prepare for most Web Sites and the work can usually be done fairly quickly. As such, it is advisable that the client has committed the time and resources necessary to complete the text content within the time frame of the project. This includes making someone available for consultation. We would like to communicate with you often and in most cases, on a daily basis during the first few days. The client is also responsible for assuring that they have permission to use the design content that they might provide to us. If you are quoting other writers, please get permission and/or give credit to those writers in your text. If you provide us with images, we will assume that you have permission to use those same images. The content of the web site will belong to you after we are finished with the exception that you cannot sell or redistribute any images provided by us. We may include a warning message on your web site, notifying site visitors that they do not have permission to copy images.

Our Web Design and Development Packages

The services provided by West Kootenay Web Design have been conveniently categorized into 6 basic sections. Each web design category provides a basic package plus options. The categories have separate prices as outlined on the Design Prices link. We have made every attempt to clarify our development services and when a price quote is given, we will not charge more than that amount.

A Page by our definition consists of 2 screen lengths of either text or images and is typically a combination of both. For measurement purposes, we use a screen size of 1024x768 pixels and often limit the screen width to 600 or 750 pixels as shown in all our pages. Thus, if you are using the same 1024x768 screen size, a page would be approximately the full width display or 2 pages lengths if considering a width limit of 600 pixels. Alternatively, Pages can consist of 2 separate HTML documents with links to each other where each Page is a single screen length limited to 600 pixels in width.

We hope this has not caused any confusion and agree that it is unfortunate that there are so many monitor types and screen sizes available. If you are using Windows and are unsure of your screen setting: go to Start, Settings, Control Panel, double click Display and go to the Settings Property. Please do not change your settings without ensuring that they are compatible with your video card and monitor - damage can result from over-driving a non-compatible monitor. Standard Web Development Packages

1.	Category 1 consists of 2 pages - a single page of 4 screen lengths or up to 4 separate single screen-length pages. You may choose any combination of text and images. We will provide a banner for your pages or you can use your own. We provide up to 8 other clipart images or buttons that you can choose to match your theme. You can use 1 frame, 1 image map, 2 lists, 8 links and up to 2 tables. You can add as many of your own images as you like. If you have photos that require scanning, we charge $2.25 for each.
2.	Category 2 consists of 4 pages - a single page of 8 screen lengths or up to 8 separate single screen-length pages. You may choose any combination of text and images. We will provide a banner for your pages or you can use your own. We provide up to 12 other clipart images or buttons that you can choose to match your theme. You can use 1 frame, 2 image maps, 4 lists, 16 links and up to 4 tables. You can add as many of your own images as you like. If you have photos that require scanning, we charge $2.00 for each.
3.	Category 3 consists of 6 pages - a single page of 12 screen lengths or up to 10 separate single screen-length pages. You may choose any combination of text and images. We will provide a banner for your pages or you can use your own. We provide up to 15 other clipart images or buttons that you can choose to match your theme. You can use 2 frames, 3 image maps, 6 lists, 24 links and up to 6 tables. You can add as many of your own images as you like. If you have photos that require scanning, we charge $1.75 for each.
4.	Category 4 consists of 8 pages - a single page of 16 screen lengths or up to 12 separate single screen-length pages. You may choose any combination of text and images. We will provide a banner for your pages or you can use your own. We provide up to 18 other clipart images or buttons that you can choose to match your theme. You can use 3 frame, 4 image maps, 8 lists, 32 links and up to 8 tables. You can add as many of your own images as you like. If you have photos that require scanning, we charge $1.50 for each.
5.	Category 5 consists of 10 pages - a single page of 20 screen lengths or up to 14 separate single screen-length pages. You may choose any combination of text and images. We will provide a banner for your pages or you can use your own. We provide up to 21 other clipart images or buttons that you can choose to match your theme. You can use 4 frame, 5 image maps, 10 lists, 40 links and up to 10 tables. You can add as many of your own images as you like. If you have photos that require scanning, we charge $1.25 for each.
6.	Category 6 consists of 12 pages - a single page of 24 screen lengths or up to 16 separate single screen-length pages. You may choose any combination of text and images. We will provide a banner for your pages or you can use your own. We provide up to 24 other clipart images or buttons that you can choose to match your theme. You can use 5 frame, 6 image maps, 12 lists, 48 links and up to 12 tables. You can add as many of your own images as you like. If you have photos that require scanning, we charge $1.00 for each.
The above categories do not include JavaScript, Dynamic HTML or CGI. The above categories are suitable for low maintenance static web sites. If you require larger Web Sites, DHTML, CGI-Perl or database applications, the development work is quoted on an individual basis. Please fill in our Form and we will respond to your request. All the above categories include the registration of your site with 10 large Internet search engines such as Altavista and Excite. All the above categories includes checking your site with an HTML test robot. This will check for compliance with the HTML 4 standard and test for any possible errors. Your site will also be tested with the MS Internet Explorer and Netscape browsers. We also perform Load Time tests, Link tests, Spell Check tests and will compress image sizes (bytes not dimensions) where necessary. We are located in Winlaw, BC Canada.
